Without the Tolpuddle boys and the match factory girls
We’d be a diffident voice in a different world
Don’t forget what the movement’s done for you, baby!
Saturday 6th July 2013 we are honoured to be playing the Matchwomen’s Strike Festival at the Bishopsgate Institute in London, celebrating 125 years since the strike that saw the beginning of the labour movement. And what a celebration it will be … we’re playing alongside top quality comrades such as:
Attila the Stockbroker
Steve White and the Protest Family
This is a FREE event, but please note that you need to register online for a free ticket to print off, or show on the door on your mobile, from here – http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/7039925607/efbbt
We will be playing songs from our new album, and if you ask really nicely we might even sell you a copy a couple of days ahead of the official release date of 8th July. (Don’t tell Soviet Beret though – they get really uptight about that kind of stuff.)
Can’t make it to London? Boo! You can still show your support by buying a ‘Women Workers’ poster for the half price of £4.49 – all profits are going to the festival.
The festival is also looking for stewards to help on the day, so please get in touch with the organisers if you would like to offer your help.
Meantime, don’t forget to pre-order the new album, and don’t forget what the Matchwomen did for you!
