Mods Against the Cuts – Thee Faction at Blow Up, this Saturday

This Saturday – August 13th – Thee Faction are back in action. Well, to be honest, it’s Thee Faction plus, in that we’ve got the legend of the ivories that is Ivan “Chuck” Chandler (he’s played with everyone, but let’s highlight Dusty Springfield as the clincher in Thee Faction’s league table), and we might even have some surprise guests dancing with us…

We’re playing at Blow Up, at the Alley Cat in Denmark Street. The club is about as influential as a club can be. Don’t take our word for it. Here’s some of their press:

There is nowhere else quite like Blow Up, and in many ways it’s still unique. ‘Blow Up may be inspired by the ’60s,’ wrote Time Out years ago, ‘but their night could run and run.’ It looks set to do just that.Time Out London, January 2009

A refreshing break from the over-polished venue this hidden gem focuses on the music. Paul Tunkin has been DJing at Blow Up since 1993. His experience has paid off and this little beauty has stood the test of time The Evening Standard, 2008

We’re on to warm everyone up for the dancing. 22.30ish. So do whatever you’re doing first, and then come down to Blow Up for 22.30. We’ve been rehearsing with Ivan all week. He’s phenomenal. And this might be the only chance you ever get to see Kassandra Krossing and Ivan Chandler pair up for ‘Only’. Don’t miss it.
